Screw the Maytag repairman. He had his chance.... pretending he has nothing to do because the quality of his product is so superior that he has no work. Like the recession is hitting him the hardest of all. He's probably running around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to fix all these malfunctions.
Two weeks ago my washing maching decided it was done. It is barely a year old. We bought it new when we bought this newer house. So after loading the detergent and clothes in, I turn it on... hear the normal clicking sounds and then this beeping with an error chode. Turns out it's the code for the doorlock (it's front loading). So if your door lock doesn't engage, your load can't be run for fear of a massive flood. So we try it again a few hundred times with the same result.
We called the store that sold us the unit, and gave them the code. They said they'd be out on Thursday. Thursday the repair guy calls me and tells me that he doesn't have a part, but it sounds like I diagnosed it, so there is no point in coming out until he has the part. I'm sorry, shouldn't you have ordered it before when I told you what the error code was? A week goes by, no part. Instead we get a call from the repairman saying he heard we took the machine back to the store. HUH? We told him no, so THEN he orders the part. OK what? Jarrett is calling the store and raising hell. End result it's been two weeks, and supposedly Monday they will be here to fix it.
Now I have four kids... one is a baby. I don't have the luxery of not doing laundry for two weeks. I also don't have a river with large rocks for beating laundry against nearby. I have been using my neighbors when it's absolutely necessary but let's face it, I hate to impose on her like that.
I don't like to do laundry but you know, when you are at the point of going commando you really do want your machine to work. I am doubtful they will be out here on Monday with the part. Call it a hunch. Anyone else have appliance repair horror stories?

A Re-Birth of a Blogger
Some of you know that I was part of the blogging circuit for some time. In fact I was a pretty active word regurgitator for three years. Then I got pregnant with my fourth baby, and mid-way through my pregnancy things just kinda got pushed aside. Some people thought I fell off the face of the earth. Nope just off the screen. Sorry to my loyal followers. However in due time I shall explain my absence and hopefully you will forgive me and continue to enjoy my sense of smartassery (is that a word) that captured you to begin with.
To recap: I got pregnant (again I know, we are rabbits), and I did give birth to another beautiful baby girl on February 1, 2009. Around the time I stopped typing my antidotes, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which ultimately ended up with me in the hospital fluctuating from high sugars to being insulin resistant. I was about 35 weeks pregnant then. After three days, they were worried about keoacidosis, so they did the c-section earlier than scheduled. As a result we had our darling Jolie (not named for the actress). She was in NICU for about 5 days with respiratory issues, mostly because her lungs were about that of a 33 week gestation baby. But she is now a thriving one year old, who is eager to let those once compromised lungs screech at me. It is a lovely sound.
We also decided to move into a larger house, another town the same month the baby was born, because you know I cannot do anything in moderation. In May we moved our family, met some new friends, and have acclimated to life here in perfect harmony. And throughout the year some other things developed (some good and some notsomuch), which I can get into later because I certainly need to leave some things for later. Bloggers need material as much as a comedian does you know.
For those of you new to me, I am on the brink of my mid-30s and have been happily married to my best friend for almost 12 years. As stated, I have four beautiful little girls, ranging ages 7 to 1 year old. I am a mom of an autistic child, who I must say, surprises me all the time. She is the most intriguing human beings I have ever been privileged to know. My other daughters are the three other focal points of my existence. The brightest stars in my galaxy. I am a stay-at-home mom, with the exception of starting up my own business, which centers around bedroom and nursery decorating. Instead of spending all my husbands money, I now enjoy spending everyone Else's and extinguish my creative muses. This endeavor I started up on my own, and to date with the projects I have had, have been successful!
So with this starts a re-birth of sorts. Re-birth of a blog, re-birth of my family, and perhaps most important, a re-birth of myself. Hang on tight, it is bound to get bumpy.
